I hope this message finds you in the best of health. At Spectrum Worldwide we are closing a year that enriched us with many lessons and challenges. In 2020 the world suddenly changed, taking us into a virtual era with an almost contactless economy, and companies like ours, with a solid yet flexible organization, have been in the best position to overcome the crisis, evolve and stay at the forefront of these changes.
With this letter, I would like to share some of the perspectives, reflections and positions we have adopted in order to keep contributing to the growth of companies whose goals lie beyond our borders, building their ideal supply chain for them.
The current situation caused by COVID-19 has turned into a global health crisis that calls for humanitarian action. Our main concern has been to preserve the health and well-being of our team and business partners. We have taken protective measures that meet and exceed government guidelines through social distancing, restructuring and flexible workloads, allowing our teams to maintain their productivity and the delivery of our services without affecting our quality, preserving our purpose and culture, and upholding the values that make us a leading company in the industry.
I am grateful for the great dedication of our team, who have responded professionally and done everything necessary to anticipate the changing circumstances of the current situation, making it possible to continue serving our customers and the industry safely, with no impact on our operations or on the supply chains that Spectrum Worldwide operates.
In this document you will find an account of the circumstances that introduced new variables into the logistics and foreign trade sector this year, such as the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, the use of Incoterms, the entry into force of the USMCA (T-MEC), and the transition to the new LIGIE, under which around 37 decrees and agreements are expected to be issued in 2021 to adapt to these changes. Spectrum Worldwide responded to all of them quickly and efficiently by training our professionals, developing new information management systems and closing new commercial agreements. We adapted to the realities we faced, and these moves put us in an optimal position to grow even stronger in the year ahead.
Spectrum Worldwide is ready to operate under any circumstance and adversity, overcoming obstacles and presenting solutions that not only meet our customers' needs but also respond to the demands of an increasingly connected world, made up of companies that understand their relevance and role in making this world a better place.
