The IMMEX program allows foreign manufacturers (outside of Mexico) to import raw materials and components to Mexico, so that these are then elaborated, transformed or fixed.
The IMMEX program provides foreign manufacturers with the free payment of general import taxes, as well as value added taxes and countervailing duties.
The objective of the program is to expand the Mexican economy by offering foreign companies a competitive environment in Mexico.
Eligibility Who can enroll in the IMMEX Program?
- The IMMEX Program is aimed at moral companies of the industrial type, which includes all manufacturing factories.
- The IMMEX Program is aimed at moral companies which the national factory will participate in the production chain of a company, the final product will have to be returned exclusively to the same foreign company.
- The IMMEX Program is aimed at moral service companies, this may include companies that are dedicated to providing services to other companies, for example, cleaning, operation, maintenance, etc.
- The IMMEX Program is aimed at moral outsourcing companies, certified companies that do not have facilities to carry out production processes and then carry out manufacturing operations through third parties that they register in their Program.
Initially, the IMMEX program focused on serving textile, simple electronic products and industrial products maquiladora companies, but for now it reaches a higher range of industries.
